Fine parchment of extremely high grade. Thin, smooth, light color. Leaves have been trimmed at the top; marginal content has been lost.
Places of recto ektheses have been marked in the gutter in black ink for later execution in the text. Also, the first phrase of the recto at the beginning of a new quire is often written vertically on the verso of the last folio of the previous quire. The text is written in the gutter, close to the bottom margin (e.g., f. 118v, 126v 134v, 142v, 150v, 158v, 166v, 181v[horizontal text], 189v, 197v, 205v, 213v, 221v, 229v, etc.).
Original f. 174 has been cut out. Some text still visible near the gutter.
PARATEXTS AND ORNAMENTATION
Gospel titles in red ink with matching ektheses.
Eusebian and lectionary apparatus in the margin in black and red ink. Paragraphing marked by rubricated ektheses. Ornamentation and ekthesis at the beginning of John are larger and more elaborate compared to the other Gospels.
