Quire Comments
Only two quires left. No signatures extant. Possibly ιδ in the top right corner of first leaf in quire 2 (Luke). Quire 1 (Matthew) is incomplete (6 leaves). Quire 2 (Luke) is complete (8 leaves).
Exterior Condition
Only two quires left, which are kept inside two separate paper pamphlet binders titled: "Vining manuscript Gregory 2753a" and "Vining manuscript Gregory 2753b." Quire 1 (Gregory 2753a) has 6 leaves. Quire 2 (Gregory 2753b) has 8 leaves.
Interior Condition
Leaves are cockled. Since there is no binding and cover, outer edges have suffered significant decay. Abrasion to ink is observed on the recto of the first leaf and verso of last leaf of quire 2 (Luke). Several leaves are in rather fragile condition. Black ink of text remains dark black and has not faded, except on a few pages that have suffered abrasion.
Additional Codicological Comments
Quire 1 (Matthew): someone has written in pencil in the top margin of f. 1r: "1350. 2793 Gregory. Vining manuscript nº 32."
References identifying the biblical text have been added in the margins in pencil.
PARATEXTS AND ORNAMENTATION
Extensive use of rubrication for Eusebian numbers, headings, and lectionary apparatus. Ribbons in black and red ink at the end of Matthew, at the beginning of the hypothesis and the kephalaia of Mark.
